About #ArtScienceBeats⚡️
Back in 2005 I began using software to make beats. I spent the next 2 years experimenting with music and styles. In the third year, I began to use my keyboard to create tracks. It's been so long since I've heard most of these that they feel like stars completing a revolution.
Some of them are primitive. They lack the experience of a trained musician or engineer. Some of them beg the question, "what was I thinking?".
Some of them still feel relevant. Therefore, I've decided to share them, in order to track my progress as an artist.
In 2019, I had my first iPhone and started playing with GarageBand on iOS. Not long after, I learned how to connect my Casio to my phone as a MIDI tool. I also discovered a powerful synthesizer, SynthOne Audiokit, that really opened up new avenues.
In 2021, received a Mac desktop for my birthday. Unfortunately, I had just completed eye surgery and haven't been able to fully explore the more powerful version of GarageBand, just yet. Also this year, I scored a violin and a trumpet from a Goodwill second hand store. I also dusted off the old guitar.

Harleys in Hawaii Remix
2023 January: "Harleys in Hawaii artsciencebeats⚡️ remix)" in GarageBand
Apple's GarageBand has a feature in the Sound Library called Remix Session, where they offer project stems from popular songs, allowing you to remix them. I turned Katy Perry's Harleys in Hawaii into a down-tempo, chill, lofi-type track. It features all original instrumentation underneath her main and backup vocals. I used a Casio MIDI keyboard to play the instruments.
